General Electric Sr Director - Technical Product Management in Ft Worth, Texas

Role Summary:

In this role you will oversee the sustain activities of the BHGE core infrastructure technologies, demonstrate strong leadership by creating strong working relationships and exemplify positive influence across executive leadership, product management, procurement, legal and other functions to drive the CTO Infrastructure strategy across BHGE’s businesses, partners and customers. You will also be responsible for leading, recruiting, mentoring and coaching a team of technical leaders and staff.

Essential Responsibilities:

As a Sr. Director for the Core Infrastructure portfolio, this position will be responsible for overseeing teams of employees, contractors and managed service resources whose mission is to improve, enhance and sustain the maintenance support and solutions provisioning of server hardware, server operating systems, middleware, data back-ups, disaster recovery, data centers, hosted storage solutions, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with other CTO infrastructure leaders to align on the development strategies and technology roadmaps.

In the role of Sr Director - Technical Product Management, you will:

  • Establish and ensure that core infrastructure systems meet predefined, deliberate uptime and service level requirements

  • Drive strategies, technical roadmaps and implementation of core infrastructure solutions within the domains described above

  • Ensure the Core Infrastructure team is staffed with the talent needed to maintain highly reliable systems availability, establish priorities for enhancement efforts

  • Work closely with the Infrastructure Program Transformation leader (Projects) and team to staff and prioritize project efforts

  • Identify and deliver innovative infrastructure solutions by pairing BHGE’s needs with the right technology and/or solutions

  • Collaborate closely with 3rd party partners delivering service solutions, especially in the data center domain

  • Displace manually intensive workflow processes with automation while maintaining focus on a positive ROI (Return on Investment) and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership)

  • Work across the CTO organization to deliver predictive analysis for infrastructure system health

  • Engage with technical teams across Digital technology to develop and refine internal customer requirements and internal customer business needs

  • Work cross functionally across engineering, marketing, sales, internal and external customers, analysts and senior management teams to formulate and execute pre-defined strategies

  • Establish and manage relationships across BHGE businesses & sub-businesses, technical matter experts and partners at director level and above

  • Establish strong working relationship with BHGE Finance, HR, Legal and other shared services teams required to ensure efficient and effective performance

  • Report to BHGE Digital Technology, Vice President - Infrastructure Services Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

  • Minimum 14 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across product linesEligibility Requirements:

  • Has mid-level experience in the following: server hardware and virtualization, server operating systems, middleware, data back-ups, disaster recovery, data center oversight, hosted storage solutions, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions

  • Prepares business cases that identify the correct cost expenditures as compared with cost outlays of new technologies or solutions (ROI)Business Acumen:
