General Electric Regional Account Manager - Automotive (Southwest) in Ft Worth, Texas

Role Summary:

GE Lighting’s Automotive Sales Organization has an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales account manager to be on the forefront of GE Lighting’s efforts to grow the Automotive Aftermarket Channel with a focus on Traditional, Heavy Duty and Regional accounts. The selected candidate will be responsible for not only maintaining but growing the account base and soliciting new opportunities to deliver on business financial goals and objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition, as the Regional Account Manager – Automotive (Southwest), you will:

  • Be responsible for managing the execution of sales, marketing, and operational programs for assigned accounts and soliciting new opportunities for market share growth

  • Plan and implement sales strategies to drive growth at both the Regional headquarters and directly with the independent locations

  • Develop strategic, long-term relationships with key decision makers at multiple levels of the customers and work cross-functionally support

  • Identify new product opportunities and drive growth throughout the member stores

  • Provide training, joint sales calls and product support; conduct technical presentations to create awareness of new products to assigned accounts

  • Clearly articulate value proposition and influence the customer decision making process

  • Work closely with the customer and GE marketing to execute marketing initiatives and to manage the customer’s promotional plan

  • Develop forecasting and sales estimates and clearly communicate to senior leadership

  • Maintain customer product listings and systems Data requirements

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure the GE Lighting plan-o-gram (POG) is optimized for local markets, technology shifts and industry changes and profit

  • Gain comprehensive understanding of product line, competitive environment and overall industry dynamics

  • Annual negotiations on contracts cooperating with other stakeholders, such as pricing, Legal, Operations, Product Management etc.

  • Please Note: Preferred location is Dallas or Houston, TX. However, this position's location is open to the Southwest region of the US Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Sales, or other business or commercial discipline from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 3 years of consultative sales experience (including strategic selling and negotiation) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

  • Willingness and ability to travel in regional territory with some international travel

  • Please Note: Preferred location is Dallas or Houston, TX. However, this position's location is open to the Southwest region of the US Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum of 3 years of consultative sales experience (including strategic selling and negotiation, preferably in lighting, automotive or technology-oriented industry)

  • Minimum 3 years sales experience in the automotive industry and understanding of the value proposition

  • Experience working in a team environment where the performance of others affects personal success

  • Identify, understand, and communicate customer needs, market trends & buying strategies to GE management

  • Strong presentation, PC and negotiation skills

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

  • Results-driven with a sense of urgency and strong follow up skills

  • Self-confident & creative thinker; strong executive presence

  • Highly customer centric and service oriented; self-confident & creative thinker
