Role Summary/Purpose

The Reciprocating Compressor Senior Services Director will manage the profit and loss of the Reciprocating Compressor aftermarket business including executing the daily operations of global service shop, field service and parts operations to ensure reliable and consistent deliverables to the customers.

Essential Responsibilities

This role will also interface with other functions including Sales, Channel Management, Field Services, Repair Shops, Sourcing and Finance to build a strategic plan and execute growth programs to expand the service offerings of the business to gain more market share, increase service penetration and provide new competitive offerings to our customer-based.

In the role of Reciprocating Compressor Senior Services Director, you will:

  • Set vision and develop strategy to promote improvement of established metrics for the business including operational, financial and customer-centric measurements

  • Build and maintain key relationships with customers and channel partners

  • Manage overall production and output of the business to reach defined targets in quality, cost, on-time delivery and safety

  • Drive a culture of change, motivation for growth and continuous improvement for the RC Aftermarket business

  • Benchmark and share best practices across the global operations

  • Ensure customer satisfaction through commercial and operational excellence programs

  • Prioritize the strategic initiatives and build supporting business cases for each initiative

  • Provide input to business strategic planning process and programs to support growth of the RC Services business unit

  • Be responsible for field resource planning, management, utilization and productivity optimization as well as execution to meet customer and business metrics

  • Interface with the commercial team and customer on customer escalations regarding services provided

  • Develop long range forecast for region resource needs

  • Be responsible for billing cycle for all completed jobs

  • Develop and execute short and long-range resource plans based on resource forecasts and region business commitments including recruitment, skills reviews, and resource development through training


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in field services

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Travel 50% of the time, as required

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate commercial agreements and develop business growth strategies.

  • Experience in leading an operation with P&L responsibilities Plant management, sourcing or operations experience

  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills

  • Proven years of work experience in services, operations, shop management, project management or customer support / services

  • Demonstrable passion for technology and learning and development

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including creativity and curiosity with ability to effectively communicate and influence solution direction across all levels of the organizational matrix

  • Ability to perform in a fast-pace environment juggling and executing on multiple priorities

  • Strong organizational and strategic operating skills

  • Demonstrated problem solving and creative skills, ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on market and client trends – go beyond the status quo

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, strategic agility, manage diversity and drive for results

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
