Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company is currently looking to hire a Product Line Manager in the Unconventional Completions Product Line at our CTI facility in Houston, TX. The Product Line Manager will manages a continuing process of improving and optimizing the product line by working to streamline and rationalize product offerings, introduce new products, maximize gross margin of product lines, and liaison between sales, manufacturing, marketing, and customers on products and technology. Represents the product line and Baker Hughes in outside discussions and technical forums and handles special projects as assigned.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Establishes vision, strategy and execution plans to support and grow the wireline conveyed completion system business, frac plugs.

  • Manages and oversees the frac plug product line for global operations

  • Accountable for overall Product Line revenue and profitability

  • Works with engineering, supply chain and operations to develop and commercialize products to maintain and grow the business

  • Establishes a deep understanding of business and market drivers to identify keys areas for business and technology investments

  • Works with other product lines and business units to establish unique market solutions.

  • Handle special projects as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • Minimum of 8 years of industry experience and 5 years of completions business

  • Has a technical and business understanding of frac operations, wireline operations and downhole tools

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to create a highly motivated team

  • Knowledge of business financials and justification, finance, and marketing concepts for strategic product line support

  • Manage ambiguity and navigates through complex problems with the ability to see the big picture yet understand the details required to arrive at a solution

  • Experienced with working with Microsoft Office suite

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to recognize and solve problems of highly complex nature.

  • After hours support of product

  • 25% travel – globally

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

  • Ability to write technical / market information along with strong presentation / communication skills

  • Active participation in industry groups such as SPE, ICoTA, API, ASME, etc.
