General Electric Lean Leader in Ft Worth, Texas

Role Summary:

The Lean Leader will work cross-functionally to achieve significant business results for the NGS Meters & pumps facility in Houston, as well as be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. You will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long term business implications and the simplification of business processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Lean Leader, you will:

  • Provide training, mentoring, coaching, and expertise to business teams in developing and executing lean plans

  • Provide overall Lean leadership and simplification to key areas of the Houston PNW Global Supply Chain

  • Improve customer satisfaction, reduce cycle-time, and generate productivity on Value Streams

  • Serve as a change agent by influencing, communicating and helping leaders institutionalize a culture of empowerment, simplification, and continuous improvement

  • Teach, train, coach and mentor Leaders and others in the use of Lean Six Sigma tools and the simplification methodology

  • Conduct regular value stream reviews with business leaders to assure the team drives significant and measurable business impact

  • Communicate progress, status and issues to the business leaders

  • Seek, share and institutionalize best practices

  • Facilitate workouts, value stream mapping sessions and activities to achieve project objectives

  • Seek, share and institutionalize best practices Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist including minimum 3 years of experience implementing Lean practices Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
