General Electric Lead Field Service Engineer - Drives in Ft Worth, Texas

Role Summary:

The Lead Field Service Engineer - Drives, under general guidance and minimal supervision, performs a wide range of engineering tasks and ensures proper installation, service, and commissioning of products and services. In this role, you will provide technical support for installation / commissioning of projects, maintenance, breakdown emergency support and remote troubleshooting.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Lead Field Service Engineer - Drives, you will:

  • Perform troubleshooting activities at site locations to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implement corrective actions

  • Perform installation and commissioning activities at customer site locations

  • Be capable of working unsupervised and leading small teams

  • Perform a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity, proper installation and commissioning of GE drive systems, under the direction of a senior engineer

  • Develop presentations and provide training / instruction to customers on drive operations

  • Provide continuous, 24 hour by 7 day a week, support in response to customer calls for service

  • Ensure appropriate response and service is provided to customer

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (OR Associate's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a customer facing role OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a customer facing role)

  • Minimum of 5 years of field service and/or commissioning experience

Desired Characteristics:

  • Field service and commissioning experience with drives (MV3000, MV7000 or SD7000)

  • Ability to execute increasingly complicated assignments that require considerable engineering skill, creative ability and independent judgment

  • Detailed knowledge, competence and expertise with installation and commissioning tasks / services

  • Strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office applications

  • Ability to learn and follow defined departmental policies, procedures and practices
