Baker Hughes, a GE Company is currently hiring for a Global Logistics Sourcing Manager, Oilfield Services based in Houston, TX
This is a managerial role within the Global Logistics & Distribution organization to lead various activities related to freight procurement & negotiations, supplier performance management and contract management/ governance of all logistics and distribution suppliers/vendors and is critical to improve performance and profitability for Logistics organization. This Leader manages a team of Supplier Management specialists and works closely with key stakeholders within global regions, product lines, and support functions to implement the logistics sourcing strategic plan. This position is part of the logistics leadership team and reports directly to the Executive Leader of Global Logistics & Distribution.
Develop the sourcing strategy for the logistics organization for all modes of transportation.
Establish and manage contracts for all strategic Logistics vendors
Rationalize vendors to consolidate volumes and leverage discounts
Sourcing of Air, Ocean, Courier and Ground freight- conduct periodic rate negotiations and improve rate coverage by balancing the best model of spend- non-contract & contract.
Manage contractual rate implementation for Air, Ocean and Courier globally and govern the domestic rate implementation plan
Global Logistics Supplier Performance & Contract management for strategic suppliers (Quarterly Business Reviews, Rate Leakage Visibility, Data Collection, Dashboard and Scorecards, management/leadership reporting)
Collaborating & coordinating with partner sourcing organizations and Lead Logistics Partners to participate in multiple negotiations per year.
Coordination and management of the Compliance activities (logistics supplier on-boarding, legal due diligence certifications, compliance reviews)
Collaboration with Regional and product line Logistics to define and implement Global Air-Ocean, Courier Sourcing Strategy
Review and Approve creation of new vendors for global logistics
Manage FCPA re-certifications for strategic partners and monitor for all vendors.
Liaise with Trade Compliance and Legal Due Diligence teams for any vendor-related issues
Liaison with Strategic Sourcing for sourcing-related initiatives or procedures
Monitor and report cost savings from all vendor discounts
Improve profitability and performance of Logistics for Product Line(s) and regions by managing and reducing rates leakage
Logistics spend analysis and presentation by strategic suppliers and mode/ region.
Understand market activity indicators of inflation/deflation and develop strategies to effectively mitigate any risks.
Collaborate with Region Logistics Managers to develop pathways to optimize logistics spend and then drive completion of the action plan
Conduct frequent reviews with Product Line and region logistics leaders to review supplier performance and cost, receive feedback and drive change as required.
Assist in development of supplier risk management plans.
Maintain the highest level of integrity, compliance and ethics in all dealings with both internal & external customers and suppliers.
Bachelors Degree from an accredited university in Engineering or Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics or related disciplines.
Minimum 5+ years of working knowledge in contracts management and sourcing negotiations (preferred in logistics sourcing: including international transportation – Air/Ocean/Courier) in a complex supply chain environment with proven track record of realizing savings from implementation of effective opportunities.
Previous management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead logistics or sourcing efforts and manage teams effectively.
Self-starter and exhibits a sense of urgency with passion for transformation and continuous improvement.
Excellent communication skills: able to deliver messages effectively verbally and in writing to leadership and to vendors.
Strong PC skills with working knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
Must be willing to travel 5-10% for contract negotiations regionally and internationally.
Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Working knowledge of SAP & e-sourcing experience.
APICS certified (CLTD or CSCP)
Lean and continuous improvement certifications and experience.
Ability to work within a fast-paced, matrix organizational environment
Strong organizational, inter-personal skill and demonstrated teamwork skills.
