General Electric Field Service Technician – Subsea and IWOCs in Ft Worth, Texas

Role Summary:

The Field Service Technician will be in charge of pre-defined operation, installation, maintenance, repair, testing, adjustment, troubleshooting, and technical assistance based on good engineering, manufacturing, installation, and operation practices as applicable to upstream oil exploration / production equipment and in accordance with contractual work scope requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Field Service Technician – Subsea and IWOCs, you will:

  • Operation, Installation, or maintenance of company and customer equipment (Subsea Production Equipment, Subsea Controls, Topside Controls, HPUs, Intervention Workover Control Systems (IWOCS), Light well Intervention, Pumps, PT Sensors) in accordance with the company’s recommended procedures, methods & guides

  • Comprehensive job preplanning including all logistics, tooling, Environmental, Health & Safety (HSE), and technical work scopes applicable to assignments

  • Timely completion of all Pre and Post job and administrative duties including but not limited to customer and service reports, timesheets, job debriefs, tool condition reports, pre and post job checklists and tooling tracking

  • Use of company e-tools to retrieve technical documents and management of packing list, bill of materials, drawings, prior job reports, certifications, skills and competencies

  • Proactively interface between all functions of the company and our customers concerning technical, operational, and HSE challenges as applicable to any assignment

  • Mentorship, development, and guidance of less experienced peers

  • Safe and compliant performance of all activities inline with the company’s and our customer’s environmental health and Safety (HSE) guidelines and procedures

  • Uncompromising integrity to ensure 100% compliance with regulatory and company rules and requirements

  • Maintaining a strong customer relationship through a positive, proactive, and professional approach Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution

  • Minimum 3 years experience in engineering , field service, and/or Controls repair and maintenanceEligibility Requirements:

  • Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required

  • Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities

  • Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time

  • Ability to safely deploy to remote geographic assignment locations – onshore and offshore locations with limited access to medical care, which may require 4 hours (or more) travel time to reach secondary level medical care

  • Undergo Periodic fitness for duty tests, examinations, and/or certifications will be required for onshore/offshore remote location assignments

  • To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a BHGE owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record Desired Characteristics:

  • Previous experience in the Upstream Oil & Gas industry

  • Ability to understand and implement electrical and mechanical drawings

  • Ability to understand and implement computer based software changes.

  • Familiarity with upstream oil equipment specifications and procedures

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in a technical environment

  • Ability to accommodate frequent worldwide travel working varying hours in difficult working conditions on short notice

  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills

  • Willing to develop technical knowledge in self and others

  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Strong Computer skills including operating systems and standard office software

  • Ability to obtain all required Security and Safety Clearances and Certifications

  • Ability to lift heavy objects

  • Knowledge of operation, installation, and / or maintenance exploration and production equipment on Land, Offshore, or Subsea

  • Certified to work in an offshore environment

  • Demonstrated understanding of Hydraulics and Hydraulic Systems

  • Demonstrated ability to work self sufficiently in difficult environments.
