General Electric Process Engineer, Manufacturing - 2nd Shift in Florence, South Carolina

Job Description Summary

As the Process Engineer, you will be recognized as a key manufacturing technology leader within the organization. You will be responsible for the daily execution and technical support for the introduction of processes for new product development and existing manufacturing to consistently improve product and process quality. You will interface with global counterparts to achieve program goals and integrate global activities. This position will support second shift manufacturing operations.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing issues, developing advanced manufacturing cost-effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation into production.

  • Work with manufacturing leadership to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment and product design.

  • Monitor and improve productivity using Lean Six Sigma or related tools, while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality and cost-conscious manner.

  • Participate in early focus on manufacturability in New Product Introductions and/or Advanced Technology programs, driving rigor in process capability assessment, process layout, tooling and equipment development, and Quality Management System Design Transfer execution.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance through process Qualification and Validation, ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of qualification and validation plans, and analysis of plan results.

  • Help execute continuous simplification of QMS methods and their applications by working with cross-functional teams including Operations and Quality Assurance.

  • Work with the facilities and maintenance team to implement changes and ensure the required product capacity is in place before it is required by customer demand.

  • Drive LEAN manufacturing implementation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical degree and a minimum of 3 years experience, or Associates Degree and a minimum of 5 years experience or High School diploma with a minimum of 7 years experience in production, engineering or troubleshooting of PC/server based systems.

  • Familiar with quality assurance and testing methods.

  • Demonstrated trouble shooting, analytical and planning skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • MS in technical concentration/field.

  • 6-sigma DMAIC DFSS certified.

  • Experience in Process Intensive manufacturing.

  • Product and Process Development experience.

  • Solid working knowledge of GEHC Quality Management Systems procedures for Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Experience working and collaborating with global teams.
