General Electric Order Fulfillment Technician 2nd Shift in Florence, South Carolina

Job Description


The principal role of the Order Fulfillment Technician is to manage shipment processes and documentation for outbound orders. Ensuring that customer’s needs are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and communicating shipment delivery requirements with freight forwarders

  • First support for shipping teams regarding order issues, and escalation path for Order Fulfillment specialists

  • Releasing orders from distribution & manufacturing to freight forwarders

  • Completing all required export documentation

  • Responsible for timely, accurate and complete record keeping

  • Ensuring all processes and documentation are in accordance with GEHC & Export compliance requirements

  • Lead service/cost optimization projects

  • Using TMS (Transportation Management System) and logistics expertise to utilize the optimum mode of transport for shipments

  • Position may or may not manage employees


  • Associates Degree OR High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 2 years export operations experience, or order management of freight forwarder operations experience

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global team environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Materials or Supply Chain Management

  • Minimum of 3 years of operational logistics, import/export and/or customs expertise.

  • Solid communication and analytical skills, including experience with communicating with others from different counties and cultures.

  • Ability to energize, develop and build rapport at all levels within the organization

  • Proven ability to execute, multi-task, and deliver on commitments

  • Experience working in a compliant supply chain

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certified.

  • Oracle order management experience.
