Job Description Summary

In this role you will work strategically to drive physical and systematic changes in the material flow process by deploying Lean / Six Sigma methodology. The role develops lasting partnerships with internal and external customers and vendors to lead and implement key projects that improve tools, process, productivity, and compliance. Manage team of Materials Specialists.

Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

  • Inventory management

  • Leading a team of buyers and materials planners

  • Driving standardization of processes

  • Utilizing data analysis and business case development for key projects

  • Support Variable Cost Productivity initiatives

  • Supplier material stream

  • Stocking levels

  • Transactional Process Support

  • Global allocation of material

  • Resource allocation

  • Lean manufacturing initiatives and support

  • Develop and maintain cross-functional partnerships with sourcing, production, operations, supply chain and finance to identify improvement opportunities and implement successful changes

  • Creates energy to deliver company goals through creation and comprehensive communication of practical "hands on" operational plans and strategies

  • Positive supplier relationships


  • Bachelors degree and 2 years supply chain experience or HS diploma and 6 years supply chain experience

  • Proven ability to drive change initiatives in a matrix environment

  • Proven ability to work independently and consistently meet deliverables in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision

  • Ability to successfully motivate and maintain employee involvement while driving change

  • Proven ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast paced, changing environment

  • Proficient in project management, written and verbal communication and analytical skills

  • Expertise in Windows, Outlook & Microsoft Office Suite

  • Willing to travel domestically as needed

Desired Characteristics:

  • Proficient with eAndon, eDHR, Trello or similiar electronic manufacturing/production systems and tools

  • Certified Black Belt

  • Oracle knowledge and experience

  • Lean Manufacturing Experience

  • OMLP Graduate

  • Lean Manufacturing AWO Leadership Experience

  • MBA or Masters Degree
