Job Description Summary
The primary responsibility of the technician is to continuously improve production levels and quality through innovation in programming, design improvements, repair and maintenance of equipment. This includes maximizing the time equipment is available for production and minimizing equipment down time. This position is responsible for making independent decisions in the areas of trouble shooting, equipment/upgrade installations and start-up requirements. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, problem solver who has knowledge of and proficiency in robotics, welding, PLC & HMI’s, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems with a strong work ethic to improve quality and production levels.

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:
Execution of robotic programing, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Ownership of program development on a variety of robotic applications or automated equipment align with cycle time targets
Read, write, and debug PLC and HMI programs
General electrical troubleshooting, dedicated to critical manufacturing equipment
Test production assemblies and sub-assemblies for correct operation and compliance to performance specifications
Interfaces with multiple departments in the execution of duties to ensure the orderly flow of materials and information as needed
Utilize initiative and independent judgment, construct, evaluate and improve complex engineering models using conceptual descriptions and ideas
Anticipate troubleshooting needs and perform complex troubleshooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution
May provide leadership and daily supervision to other technicians within the assigned department, including the evaluation of performance and management of work plans
Work with the management team to lead and deploy training plans as needed
Little or no direction is given in execution of job-related activities
Comply with EHS regulations and policies
Team Lead Responsibilities May Include:
Perform and support any type of work required for proper functioning of a group: to include normal production, rework, indirect work, etc.
Communicate to the group changes and assure compliance
Provide to the Production Team Leader details at the end of the shift and recommend corrective actions if applicable
Communicate shortages on the floor to shift supervisor/materials personnel and accumulate the necessary parts and/or materials to the group
Communicate to the Production Team Leader repeated problems of product within the group. This communication is assumed to include other Team Leads both on shift as well as between shifts and assist in problem solving
Assist engineering and manufacturing support on the development and prove out of new products, methods, tools and test equipment. Additional department specific responsibilities may be established
Associates degree or High School Diploma and 9 years experience
Minimum 5 years of experience with technician role, and at least 1 year of technical leadership experience
Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a team of technicians, including delivery of performance feedback and the management of work plans
Demonstrated intuitive and advanced proficiency to logically troubleshoot up to a system level using identifiable problem-solving techniques and previous experience
Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and assist with corrections to the existing design or process
Proficiency to understand and interpret basic written technical information
Demonstrated ability to work well with limited direction and information
Demonstrated ongoing effort to maintain knowledge of current technology
Ability to communicate using English (or local language)
Demonstrated technical leadership ability
Demonstrated ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, and ability to anticipate malfunctions or deviations, and lead team through the implementation of corrections to the existing design or process
Demonstrated high proficiency to interpret, instruct, and explain complex technical information
Demonstrated proficiency to utilize and modify computerized work systems
Desired Skills :
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or Technology related fields
Prior experience working in a medical device manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Carbon and Aluminum arc welding
Working understanding of general systems (i.e.. pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical)
Diagnosing skills to perform repairs and preventative maintenance
Fluent PC skills including Microsoft Office tools
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Clear verbal and written communication skills
