Job Description Summary
The Lead Electrical Engineer position will be responsible for providing electro-magnetic design leadership for MRI magnet projects.
This engineer leads and participates in the engineering efforts for the magnet projects to ensure that the necessary program deliverables are adhering to plan.
This role requires cross functional interaction with Sourcing, Manufacturing and Quality team members to ensure the quality goals set forth by the business are met.

Lead electro-magnetic design, field support and verification efforts, including compliance and standards testing and system compatibility verification to meet the requirements of MRI products
Work with suppliers and engineering team members to develop design alternatives to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability
Establish and maintain performance, quality, vitality, and reliability for the MRI products
Provide project leadership for electro-magnetic design activities within assigned programs, including estimating schedule and resource requirements, product cost, requirements development, status reports, etc.
Take on project leadership responsibilities as needed to support the Lead Program Integrator or Program Manager on the assigned projects
- Bachelors with 5+ years relevant work experience or Master’s Degree with 2 years relevant work experience (or Ph.D. Degree) in Engineering: Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
Experience in superconducting magnet & cryogenics
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Science, Physics or related technical field
5+ years of experience in project design within a manufacturing, development, or research environment.
Knowledge of GE Healthcare engineering tools and processes.
Previous experience working with medical devices
Demonstrated experience in any of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Hardware testing and Design Verification
Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams, strong influencing, and communication skills
Demonstrated understanding/experience with new product development or design change development cycle
