Job Description Summary
This role will plan the day to day execution and technical support for the introduction of processes for new product development and existing manufacturing. The AME team (Advanced Manufacturing Engineer) is recognized as a key manufacturing technology leader within their organization and provides technical leadership for the production team. The successful candidate will support efforts to consistently improve product and process quality. They will interface with global counterparts to achieve program goals and integrate global activities when necessary. Responsibilities include providing documentation and floor support associated with safety, manufacturing and quality methods, tooling, and equipment. Aggressively initiate new processes and methods that will improve safety, reduce product cost and/or improve product quality.

Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing issues developing advanced manufacturing cost-effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation into production.
Work with a cross-functional team to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality challenges related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment and product design.
Ensure regulatory compliance through Qualification & Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance
Develop new process and workstation designs to reduce cycle time and support the lean manufacturing initiative.
Provide expertise in process hardening of mechanical assembly processes including welding, coil winding, assembly, part fit-up, tooling/fixturing, and vacuum leak testing.
Participate in early focus on manufacturability in NPI and/or Advanced Technology programs.
Drive rigor in process capability assessment, process layout, tooling/equipment development and QMS Design Transfer execution.
Lead Compliance, as well as Environmental, Health & Safety efforts in support of site goals.
Provide safe processes that comply with all local and federal regulations. Assure that corrective action is taken to resolve observed safety concerns in all areas.
B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical degree and 5 years experience, or an Associate’s Degree and 10 years experience in production, engineering or troubleshooting.
Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills.
Ability to work independently.
Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Exposure and Use of Lean Methodologies.
Co-op or internship experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
6-sigma DMAIC & DFSS certified.
Experiences in Process Intensive manufacturing.
Product and Process Development experience.
Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
Experienced developing tools and templates.
Demonstrated program or project management skills.
Demonstrated experience owning production processes / growing capability in yield and quality.
Experience working with global teams.
