Job Description Summary
The Lead Project Planning Specialist – Marine is responsible for working closely with project managers, technical experts and project leads in planning, creating and managing project schedules. In this role, you will ensure that the project goals defined with the customer and all project deliverables are captured, understood and shared with the team to maximize on-time delivery. You will report to the Marine Operations Leader and support multiple project managers in both equipment/service across the Marine portfolio.
Roles and Responsibilities
Establish, develop and maintain detailed development and delivery schedules for major projects from cradle-to-completion as well as larger service projects with field service and commissioning scope
Create detailed schedules covering project/contract milestones, design, procurement, manufacturing, installation and close out
Provide weekly/monthly project schedule updates with project team
Participate in project meetings, schedule follow-up meetings representing both project and planning interests
Close the project and activities by archiving work in scheduling tools
Evaluate project schedule and progress for validity and accuracy of project and resource requirements
Provide accurate and realistic assessment of project schedules, identify, and report problem areas, work with the project and engineering teams to track solutions and corrective actions
Customize and distribute Primavera/Microsoft Project schedules per customer contact requirements
Constantly monitor OTD (On Time Delivery) performance and objectives per schedule and work with project team to reach project milestones successfully
Support other project activities
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma/GED)
Hands-on experience with Primavera (P6) and / or Advanced level experience with Microsoft Project is required
Two years of experience in project planning

Must be a US citizen. Due to the nature of the work being performed this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.
Proficient in Oracle Primavera P6 planning, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel
Ability to build, maintain and update the detailed schedules, ensure adherence to quality standards, create graphical reports, and provide analysis using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of SAP
Experience in Power Conversion business and knowledge of products is preferred
Strong influencing skills when dealing with functions and planning their activities
Ability to interface with difficult customers, customizing planning activities according to specific needs and requirements
Ability to prioritize activities and respect deadlines
