Primary Responsibilities:

  • Waste/recycling – establish waste reduction goals and action plans to implement recycling and other waste minimization programs.

  • Track and generate trending of green-house gas emissions data for the site against site, business and company goals.

  • Serve as site focal for Green Team Network site initiatives and GE Aviation business sustainability initiatives.

  • Participate and lead lean action events (Treasure Hunts, Green Value Stream assessments, and other continuous improvement and waste minimization events)

  • Support conservation and environmental projects as requested including working with consultants, third-party experts, and others to support site carbon reduction efforts. This includes serving as site focal for future electric-vehicle implementation/ infrastructure penetration

  • Partner with internal communications and marketing teams on sustainability-related messaging for site, as well as external sustainability-related communications with customers, investors, NGO and government entities

  • Serve as focal for sustainability-related communications at the site level to build culture and employee engagement

  • Focal for short-term and long-term carbon reduction roadmap development and implementation including any site-level GHG product substitutions that are used in site processes or operations

  • Provide status and regular updates with Executive Leadership Team

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 5 years of experience overseeing the execution of sustainability programs

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with pollution prevention projects, continuous improvement, and other waste minimization events.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate and lead teams, drive change, and interact cross functionally

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with internal and external customers, and all levels of the organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to facilitate and conduct presentations with large and small groups

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
