General Electric Supplier Quality/Development Engineering - Small Parts in Evendale, Ohio

Role Summary:The Supplier Quality / Development Engineer will be responsible for mentoring suppliers in the application of quality requirements, tools and quality performance for assigned engines and hardware suppliers. In this role, you will manage supplier qualification, drive improvements on metrics and work quality improvement plans addressing problem areas, along with investigating quality escapes to provide root cause analysis and ensure effective corrective actions are taken.

Essential Responsibilities:As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will:

  • Select suppliers through qualification processes and own supplier results

  • Drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards

  • Own supplier audits, ensure compliance, and drive improvement plans

  • Manage supplier quality assurance and supplier quality development

  • Actively participate in supplier performance reviews

  • Participate in cross-functional projects and present outcomes to business leaders around cost-out opportunities


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Sourcing)

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering or Manufacturing


  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 35% to provide onsite support at suppliers, as needed

Desired Characteristics:

  • Engineering degree from an accredited university or college preferred

  • Basic understanding of GE Aviation Engines Quality Management System

  • Ability to review documentation and witness supplier practices to determine if sound manufacturing and inspection principles are in place

  • Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proven facilitation and collaboration skills

  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams
