Job Description Summary
In this role, you will understand and execute the commercial strategy of the Castings supply base to drive GE's desired outcomes. This includes tasks such as contract lifecycle management, total cost evaluation, purchase order placement, and understanding currencies for negotiations. You will drive days to pay, cash, deflation, and coordinate internal deal reviews. This role will require both strategic thought and tactical follow-through to succeed in a buying/commercial focused space.

Roles and Responsibilities
Generates the best possible commercial outcomes for GE to manage total cost of all assigned parts and suppliers, ensuring best cost, quality, and delivery.
Place and follow-up on POs. Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution. Manage problems and schedule changes. Maintain accurate ERP data.
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy. Basic knowledge of related job disciplines.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
High level of autonomy as part of an empowered teaming culture. Subject to functional practices and precedents or are covered by well-defined policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
Uses judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems. Has ability to prioritize information for data analysis. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or institution (OR a High school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years experience in Sourcing, Materials & Planning, or relevant Supply Chain roles)
A minimum of 3 years in Sourcing, Materials & Planning, or relevant Supply Chain roles.

Buying/commercial experience for both commercial and military products.
Proven commercial and/or fulfillment experience with a range of suppliers, specifically in the raw material space.
Demonstrated excellence in Sourcing Compliance and the usage of Sourcing systems.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
