This position will provide hands on deployment of our technical IT stack environment following the architectural standards. This role is responsible for ensuring the technical solutions are implemented and supported in a secure, compliant manner and adheres to NISTs regulations and meets business needs.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Performs the ‘last mile” deployment of our technical solutions and products to enable our customer by being a hands-on leader

  • Accountable for quality and timeliness of that delivery by leading both GE and non-GE employees

  • Partners with technical teams to creatively implement / improve technologies and processes and arrive at repeatable, deployable, and supportable solutions utilizing Lean and Agile principles.

  • Leads the development of deployable strategies that creatively use resources to anticipate and solve problems, resulting in innovative solutions for the business using alternatives beyond the obvious.

  • Leads the plans and delivery of hardware implementation, software, network and collaborative capabilities and solutions.

  • Drives the evolution of implementation and support by delivering products at the site including infrastructure, systems, hardware, network, security, storage and software;, etc. and to enable engineering driven decisions with speed and agility.

  • Ensures stability of site operations through obsolescence planning, supporting, patching compliance, and asset maintenance management.

  • Maintains documentation on all systems, installations, and configurations.

  • Coordinates and communicates all Change Management and Risk Management activities.

  • Assists in the evaluation / implementation of third-party infrastructure solutions.

  • Initiates and coordinates outsourced staffing supplier efforts.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline from accredited university or college with minimum of 4 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 7 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 9 years of professional experience

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Distinct Area of Work (DAW) or Information Technology or Information Security

  • Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Eligibility Requirement:

  • Current Security+ certification or ability to obtain asap.

  • Active United States Department of Defense security clearance for access to classified information or the ability to apply for and receive/maintain clearance

Core Technical Competencies:

  • At least 3 years supporting the following: infrastructure, network, server, storage, High Performance Computing, IT security or collaborative tools

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory administration, Windows, Linux, and/or VmWare.

  • Familiarity to working knowledge of Cisco iOS, Dell, Cisco ASA, network troubleshooting tools like Solar Winds and Putty, strong grasp of TCP/IP concepts, VLANs, security, VPN, Identity Access Management, Jabber Collaborative Tools, VOIP concepts

  • Strong grasp of Windows Server 2008R2 Standard – Windows 2019 Datacenter, VMWare vCenter, Dell, EMC, Open IT, PowerEdge server, or other forms of Hyperconverged environments and understanding of Hypervisors

  • Expert grasp of supporting Windows 7-10, PC hardware troubleshooting

  • Understanding of virtual and bare metal backup as well as High Availability solutions

  • Strong ability to troubleshoot Microsoft Office 365, Exchange Online email deliverability issues, anti-spam solutions a plus

  • Ability to perform on-prem DNS administrator duties

  • Experience with end-point management solutions such as Symantec, WSUS, Microsoft SCCM, Sophos Endpoint Protection

  • Experience supporting conferencing and video conferencing solutions; Cisco Jabber a plus

  • Scripting knowledge via PowerShell, Python, Putty and automation tools via Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Kuberneties, Docker.

  • Experience with virtualization technologies supporting multi tenant – VXRail, AWS, ACI, DEV/OPS (for automation)

  • Experience with security tools such as: Purifile, Splunk, SEPM, Mcaffe, Nessus, Ivanti, Digital Guardian, Solarwinds, Cisco Firepower, ISE, and NTP servers

  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Azure a plus

  • Understanding of NAS and NAS to Cloud configurations a plus

  • Microsoft certifications are a plus
