Job Description Summary

The Sourcing Product Architect role is responsible for the end-2-end Sourcing technical product management between Mainframe IMPACT and corresponding inbound/outbound integrations with other DT applications, with ownership to set the strategy for application change design and business process testing across all Sourcing applications. In this role, your focus will be to build a business scenario testing library, set the long term testing strategy and coordinate execution of all Sourcing scenarios and test cases. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the Aviation Sourcing Suppliers access provisioning strategy, roadmap and DevOps Support. In this Sourcing Product Architect role you will partner with the broader Digital Supply Chain teams to coordinate and lead end-2-end technical system design, testing of application and processes across Supply Chain business functions.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Serves as the primary Aviation Sourcing Digital Technology point of contact for Mainframe IMPACT product management.

  • Develops strong working relationships & demonstrates influence across executive leadership in broader Supply Chain and Sourcing supporting functions like Aftermarkets, Quality, Indirect Sourcing, Account Payables, IDM, etc. Partner with your business counterparts and cross-functional teams in new business requirements focusing on outcome-driven product enhancements.

  • Defines the Sourcing DT end-2-end testing vision, strategy, and roadmap for Aviation Sourcing. Establish an operating rhythm with your business partners were business scenarios and test cases are define and continuously evaluated to ensure up to date testing library.

  • Project manage new features and functionality in the Sourcing space for business process changes across multiple applications. Work across internal GE DT and Functional Teams, multiple external implementations partners, and GE Corp stakeholders to deliver a complete end-to-end solution accounting for data conversion, on-going mapping and integrations between transactional GEA ERP systems, and an Aviation-wide data set with direct and indirect suppliers.

  • Manage the product backlog prioritization, assist business partners with their business case, expected benefits and prioritizing features driven by business outcomes. Creates a culture of supplier focus and high performance to drive innovation through continuous supplier engagement.

  • Engage frequently with the Operations Support Team; facilitate incident management discussions, provide clarification, fixes acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contributes to design activities and decisions.

  • Responsible for 1) ALM Testing Library management. Define ALM Business scenarios, test Cases and script Management for all Sourcing end-2-end functional areas, 2) business process standardization across sub businesses and initiatives (new deployment, enhancement, Ops support) and 3) Functional Training Management (Value/Process Map and user documentation)

  • Serves as the primary Sourcing DT point of contact for Sourcing EVM initiatives.

  • Establishes product structure with visual management that identifies key performance indicators, milestones, and establishes a reporting cadence.

  • Manages contractor resource(s) providing technical-specific support.

  • Ensures DT costs are appropriately planned, forecasted, and tracked throughout the year.

  • Manage product DevOps partner scope of work, performance to contract, resourcing, skill sets, and cost impacts to ensure successfully solution delivery.

  • Be regarded as an expert in Agile Methodology; translate unstructured or ambiguous work requests into actionable user stories and work units through problem decomposition and planning.

  • Demonstrate superior persuasion and influencing skills that ensure alignment between business users, product owners and scrum team. Demonstrates skills in collaborating with different stakeholders, influencing decisions and an ability to take strategic view.

  • Mentor junior team members and provide functional and technical leadership across the organization.

  • Owns the release and sprint backlogs short-term roadmap for MVPs and quarterly releases.

  • Owns and manages the backlog; continuously orders and prioritizes to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of backlog are always ready.

Education Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 10 years of professional experience (OR Associates degree with minimum of 13 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 15 years of professional experience).

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Technical Product Management or IT Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.

Desired Characteristics

  • 8-10 years of Mainframe and Oracle ERP experience in Sourcing and Procurement.

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience integrating some combination of Oracle and external system integrations.

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in testing strategy and testing execution. HP ALM Experience is a plus.

  • Secondary Skills - SQL and PL/SQL.

  • Experience with BI Publisher.

  • High level of energy and enthusiasm with the ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources; has experience working with others on a global basis; applies knowledge to coach and mentor others.

  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships; creates processes with customer viewpoint; partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives.

  • Strong analytical and strong problem-solving skills - communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve; creates actionable strategies and operational plans.

  • Change oriented –actively generates process improvements; champions and drives change initiatives, understands technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction aligning with business goals.

  • Understand key cross-functional concepts that impact the organization; is aware of business priorities and organizational dynamics.

  • Reacts openminded to new perspectives or ideas. Considers different or unusual solutions when appropriate.

  • Willingness to work during hours that support global time zones.

  • Willingness to work in a 24X7 during critical applications outages and/or monthly application upgrades/patching.
