Job Description Summary
The Growth Playbook Leader demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. This role is accountable for GM&F sourcing strategy to meet business needs across the organization, managing complex sourcing and value stream issues, coaching/ establishing short and long-term planning, and contribute to the overall Aviation sourcing business strategy. Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.
Roles and Responsibilities
Define, improve and drive Sourcing strategies for Global Machining & Fabrications with actionable 1 | 3 | 5-year strategy road map.
Influence policy and ensures delivery within own function, linking with other functions of the organization
Communicate complex messages and negotiate with suppliers, vendors and customers
Apply Lean principles and implement process improvement initiatives
Manage supplier contracts, lead negotiations, identify opportunities and selecting suppliers
Present business solutions to leaders in functional area. Communicates complex messages and negotiates mainly internally with others to adopt a different point of view
Influence peers to take action and may negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers
Create, update, and maintain part family & supplier strategies for GM&F
Lead projects to find creative solutions to address complex problems such as sourcing financial targets, cost out plans and establishing a pipeline of commercial and cost out ideas
Leverage analytics and has the ability to evaluate quality of information received to question conflicting data for analysis
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Supplier Management, Project Management, and or Contract Management
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Supply Chain is preferred
Ability to develop key relationships, find and set up new suppliers
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills as a change agent with the ability to influence at all levels
Proven project management and process improvement ability
Strong quantitative and data analysis skills
