General Electric Sr Manager - Program Management in Evendale, Ohio

Role Summary:This leader will be responsible for developing and delivering the data conversion and archiving strategy for Aviation's Engines Modernization program, which is charted to improved real-time visibility into the Engines business' engineering and production costs, material/WIP tracking and supplier/shop schedules. This role will lead a team of data architects and data engineers to develop solutions for critical data migrations, including associated testing and archiving strategies.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Direct leadership of a team of data architects and data engineers

  • Partner with DT stakeholders on technology/platform selection, and development and execution of data conversion and archiving strategy

  • Partner with business and DT leadership to understand functional and non-functional requirements

  • Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer needs and associated outcomes

  • Operate in Agile Framework and drive cultural transformation within the team

  • Partner with other GE businesses to share and leverage re-use opportunities

  • Stay current with market trends, enabling technologies, and business digital strategy

  • Manage resource allocation and budget


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in Software development, Information Technology and/ or Product Management

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with data conversion and archiving related to ERP environments

  • Dynamic leader & strong team player able to work well in matrixed organization

  • Familiarity with Oracle eBusiness Suite and related development, testing, and implementation practices

  • Able to explore alternate options and analyze long-term impact of technology decisions

  • Demonstrated ability to define program management progress metrics, manage critical paths, and deliver on­-time, on-­budget

  • Demonstrated ability to balance value propositions for competing stakeholders

  • Strong knowledge of Agile and product management principals

  • Familiarity with GE Aviation’s business and applications; established network of DT peers in GE Aviation

  • Ability to make executive level presentations
