General Electric Sr Application Operations Engineer in Evendale, Ohio

Role Summary:

You will be responsible for design, delivery and process development towards ensuring availability of critical Engineering software in support of Aviation’s Military program objectives. You will own licensing, delivery and operational support for client and server based applications working with Digital partners towards maximizing Engineering productivity.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Capture engineering requirements by brainstorming with Engineering and Product Managers towards efficient service delivery

  • Develop and execute processes for software and license updates to minimize client disruption and increase end user productivity

  • Streamline software delivery model and document software introduction and installation processes

  • Communicate critical updates and establish relationships with customer teams to ensure requirements and service level agreements are aligned

  • Engage in technical discussions; participate in technical designs and present technical ideas through white boarding

  • Work closely with your peers and train members within the team to ensure common processes resulting in fulfilling customer expectations

  • Execute in a fast pace delivery mode and focus in delivering tasks to meet client program goals

  • Seek and provide feedback on design and development

  • Demonstrate the ability to make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment

  • Understand engineering software as a product, all applications and the interrelationships between them while being an expert in the delivery/installation processTroubleshoot software related issues and build relationships with partner organizations to quickly resolve complex issues

  • Possess advanced domain knowledge and show great customer focus. Expert in processes / methodologies and Skilled in build, release & deployment processes

  • Articulate the need for scalability and understand the importance of improving quality through testing

  • Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions to our customers' individual needs

  • Troubleshoot application alerts from monitoring tools and follow SOPs to resolve or escalate appropriately

  • Monitor and manage software licensing. Interface with software license management team to ensure cost effective solutions

  • Work directly with service architects to help reproduce and resolve customer issues • Drive customer communication during critical events and lead retrospective meetings

  • Drive projects that improve support-related processes and our customers’ technical support experience with minimal guidance

  • Write tutorials, how-to videos, and other technical articles for the collective operational team and knowledgebase articles and keep them up-to-date

  • Work on critical, highly complex customer problems that may span multiple services

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

  • Minimum of 2 years’ Information Technology operational experience

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD SECRET or TOP SECRET security clearance
