General Electric Senior Release Engineer - Secure Digital Solutions in Evendale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

Responsible for deployment of a wide range of technology projects and products to support air-gapped network environments supporting GE's Military Services Organization engineering teams. Occasional operational support activities & delivering continuous availability for GE applications. Responsible for ensuring all activities and IT system deployments are in compliance with government security regulations & requirements, while following GE standards processes. Candidates should have a wide range of network support and/or deployment experience across a variety of technology families (Windows, Network, Applications, etc.)

Expected minimum experience to demonstrate competency of 2 years. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. Adds value to build and release engineering discussions.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Support and improve tools for continuous build, automated testing and release management

• Make technology choices at individual level and has ability to analyze impact

• Understand the build process and identifies bottleneck areas for improvement

• Demonstrate expertise in writing scripts to automate tasks. Implements Continuous Integration/Deployment build principles

• Provide expertise in the quality engineering, test planning and testing methodology for a project

• Help business develop an overall strategy for deploying new solutions into production environments. Contribute to planning and strategy with his/her ideas. Draw off experience in order to influence others

• Be expert at applying principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, Troubleshooting & Testing Techniques.

• Be able to document procedures for building and deploying

• Comfort in Ambiguity - Identifies when additional information is needed from customer/manager/stakeholder and asks relevant questions to obtain it. Delivers solution(s) where additional information may not be needed or available, while clearly stating any underlying assumptions. Communicates status. Evaluates data sets to determine possible value or steps to create value.

• Problem Solving - Identifies multiple solutions & provides in depth scenario analyses. Identifies and explores alternative solutions. Transitions the solution creation process into action. Identifies feasible and effective solutions for creating business value. Prioritizes and identifies roadblocks and addresses them.

Education Qualification

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 2 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 7 years of professional experience

Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience

Eligibility Requirement:

  • Ability to obtain and retain DoD Security Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working as part of a project team, waterfall or Agile

• Project Team leadership (Professional Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Master, CAPM, etc.)

• Security / Network certifications (Security+, CISP, CCNA, MTA, etc.) to demonstrate proficiency in broad subject areas
