Job Description Summary
The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will manage and coordinate cost out projects across the Sourcing Organization. You will organize and coordinate multi-functional teams to execute on product cost initiatives. This role impacts departmental operations responsible for planning/execution.
Roles and Responsibilities
Define and control production process including tooling and equipment
Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment
Develop new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations
Work on cross functional teams, and communicate about project approach and present outcomes of research done to Senior Leadership
Participate in LEAN initiative, and engage Six Sigma tools for process improvements
Conduct cost/benefit analysis for changes to processes and/or equipment and actively drive positive change
Utilize lean-manufacturing principles and participate/lead in action workouts to improve process capability, improve quality, reduce overall costs and increase capacity
Facilitate and undertake all elements of manufacturing engineering such as process planning, tooling, inspection criteria / equipment and lean methodologies
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)
At least 3 years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Production Management
Souring, Shop Operations, or Production Control experience
Manufacturing Experience in Aerospace or Automotive a plus
