General Electric Machine Repair Engineer in Evendale, Ohio
Role Summary:As a Machine Repair Engineer, you will be part of a team that can be deployed to GE Aviation facilities globally to troubleshoot and fix manufacturing and support assets. This role will require experience and knowledge of installation, maintenance, repair and service (including alignment and calibration) on various commercial, industrial and specialized equipment that includes both manual and automatic CNC assets.
Perform preventative maintenance on machine tools and process equipment
Troubleshoot and identify root causes for mechanical failures within equipment of varying types on a shop floor
Perform all functions of repair and maintenance and may be required to assist with a variety or mechanical assemblies such as precision ball screws, spindles, head stocks, lube pumps, transmission, hydraulic systems, counter balance cylinders, vacuum systems, etc.
Directly work within Asset Management Systems for job plans, spares recommendations and other needs as defined
Ability to read and review design plans, installation plans, and complex prints associated with assets (including Field Acceptance Testing and/or Site Acceptance Testing)
Provide training and ongoing support to personnel that are interacted with at the individual site level
Works across boundaries and collaborates with all levels of an organization
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years experience in maintenance / systems engineering)
Three years or more experience in maintenance / mechanical engineering experience
Ability and willingness to travel 50%
Technical degree (mechanical or electrical engineering) strongly preferred
Must have analytical ability to troubleshoot any type of equipment and identify failures and malfunctions
Ability to communicate at a variety of levels within an organization
Aptitude to coach / train individuals on areas of expertise
Lean training / background strongly preferred
