Job Description Summary
The Non-Destructive Test Staff Engineer/Technologist demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals/programs/processes for an area or business segment. Has the experience or expertise to solve problems. Able to develop and execute objectives for self and others. This role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Roles and Responsibilities
Authorization of Level 3 Certifying Agents for the NDT method
Provide NDT technical support as the Certifying Agency for the NDT method
Provide NDT technical support to value stream shop Certifying Agents for the NDT method
Perform site assessments and leadership in value stream and supply chain NDT audits
Responsible for surveillance of NDT personnel certifications
Maintain processes and equipment needed to support next generation manufacturing processes
Work closely with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Sourcing organizations meeting all business commitments
NAS-410 Level 3 qualifications to attain certification in the Radiographic (film) method, documented NDE training and certification records
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science
At least 10+ additional years of experience in aerospace manufacturing NDT, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science
Technical or Associates degree in NDE and 10+ years of experience in the Radiographic NDT method
NAS-410 Level 3 certification in other NDT (PT, MT, UT, ET or digital RT) methods
Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification or extensive quality experience
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science
Extensive NDE application skills with 20+ years of experience
Strong teamwork skills or experience in a teaming environment
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools, drawing interpretation, and systems
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
