Job Description Summary
A process engineer (PE) in Marine and Industrial Engine is the glue of the assembly shop. She/he supports the daily rhythms of the shop, both by troubleshooting and resolving any assembly issues that arise as well as driving process improvement through technical and Lean-focused projects. This person is a key player in ensuring the assembly team achieves key performance indicators across safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Owns, along with other PE teammates, the assembly production process including process metrics, work instructions, tooling, equipment, and lean initiatives
Supports daily shop rhythms, troubleshooting production issues and defects (Preliminary Review), learning from failures and implementing countermeasures (RCCA)
Interfaces and coordinates with organizations that support assembly to include maintenance teams, manufacturing programs, engineering, and supplier quality.
Fosters an inclusive, team-oriented, and fun-loving culture
Grows and develops technical knowledge of engine assembly through process improvement projects
Utilizes lean-manufacturing principles and participates in/ leads Kaizen events to improve capability, reduce overall costs and increase capacity
Develops in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
Supports new configuration/CID introductions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing environment
3 years manufacturing or operational experience
