General Electric Lead Finance Specialist- GE Aviation Accounting Operations in Evendale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

This role will own various aspects of Controllership within the Commercial Engines Division, with a significant focus on the transition of the order-to-cash process from JD Edwards to Oracle Order Management in Centerpiece. This is a hands-on role working through SIT / UATs / Reports, etc. and managing the progress of the Project. In addition, the role will be responsible for certain close and reporting items including balance sheet analysis, monthly / quarterly close, and account reconciliation preparation / review.

Roles and Responsibilities

Oracle E ‚Äč RP Implementation:

  • Understand the end-to-end process flow for key Commercial Engines processes

  • Engage with key stakeholders in the business, including Controllership, Finance, IT, International Programs, etc. to ensure ERP will meet the business requirements for each respective group

  • Hands on thorough completion of SIT / UAT testing and ensure project implementation stays on schedule

  • Work closely with IT team to ensure all reports developed are complete and accurate, tie to the ledger, and include all relevant information required by users

  • Work with Aviation SOX team to identify key risks and ensure the appropriate controls are implemented to sufficiently mitigate risks, while minimizing the burden to the business

Other Responsibilities:

  • Involved with monthly and quarter close including balance sheet analysis for management review, booking entries for specific areas, account reconciliation preparation / review

  • Maintain oversight over RSP entitlement / payment, Lease Pool processes across product lines, including coordination with International Programs team

  • Responsible for SOX controls, working closely with Aviation SOX team, and serving as a key point of contact for the external auditors

  • Focus on team & department priorities within operating unit and may be responsible for work and development of others

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Finance)

  • 3+ years experience in Finance

Desired Characteristics

  • Understanding of Oracle functionality / experience

  • Working knowledge of JD Edwards will be added advantage

  • Experience utilizing lean tools and methodology

  • Experience with auditing and/or SOX controls

  • System implementation experience, including SIT / UAT testing

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams

  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously

  • Effective problem identification and solution skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Familiarity with SOX controls and requirements

  • Strong knowledge of relevant accounting guidance for Commercial Engines, including revenue recognition

  • Proven ability to partner across functions, including key stakeholders in Controllership, Finance, IT
