General Electric Lead Engineer - Stress and Life Software Tool Development in Evendale, Ohio
Job Description Summary
This position will support Stress & Life software tool development, enhancement and integration activities. Tools include but not limited to SIESTA (general GEA component lifing), PREFER (GE Power lifing), and 3DFAS (GE linear elastic fracture mechanics).
Roles and Responsibilities :
Execute with limited guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements
Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments
Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams; mentor others in the organization
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments
Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science
At least 2 additional years of experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering position
Knowledge of Mechanics of Materials
Knowledge of GE's primary mechanics lifing suite, SIESTA
Programming background, preferably FORTRAN and PYTHON
Knowledge of Linear Elastic Fracture Mechanics
Strong oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of using programming code repositories
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to guide and influence others
Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work
