General Electric Lead Engineer Image Analysis in Evendale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

The Lead Engineer will be accountable for developing image processing, ADR (assisted defect recognition) solutions, and contribute to the overall NDE (non-destructive evaluation) strategy for the CEoM – CT and Imaging Team. The engineer will demonstrate accountability for some functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, the engineer will support multiple NDE modalities and supply chain shops and work towards digitizing NDE data to increase operator productivity and decrease component cost. The engineer will utilize strong interpersonal skills while providing networking solutions and writing/maintaining productivity tools in the shops.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Execute and provide guidance for the analysis/evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices, and procedures and the product/program requirements

  • Programming, scripting using Powershell, Python, Tcl language (or other similar), utilizing Avizo 3D analysis software

  • Define and develop product processes related to design, analysis, software quality, productivity tools, and scripts

  • Apply appropriate regression testing methods to inspection software releases

  • Troubleshoot local area network connected multi-computing environments

  • Identify need for technical and program reviews within the organization; lead and participate in the technical reviews with limited guidance from senior engineers

  • Demonstrate ability to monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments as appropriate

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data or programs generated for the assigned projects and tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

  • Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules, and contract commitments; develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or Computer Science

  • At least 2 years’ experience in an engineering position

  • Demonstrated software coding capabilities and computer networking/security capabilities in a production environment

  • In-depth understanding of engineering technology, tools, and computer operating systems

  • Experience in a non-destructive testing environment

  • Experience with aviation quality requirements and systems
