General Electric Lead Engineer - Exhaust Systems Mechanical Component Design in Evendale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

As part of a cross-functional Exhaust Systems team within a Military NPI Program, the Lead Engineer will contribute to the design and development of military gas turbine engine exhaust hardware that meets integrated requirements of the engine and airframe. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. The Lead Engineer will need the experience or expertise to solve problems, and able to develop and execute objectives for self and others. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance. The Lead Engineer is also expected to participate in planning activities and technical reviews, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute the design, analysis, or test of assigned components or sub-assemblies using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

  • Provide basic domain technical knowledge to personnel / cross functional teams supporting the assigned project

  • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures

  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments

  • Participate on horizontal teams through independent tasks or projects

  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews with internal and external customers

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

  • At least 3 additional years of experience in an Engineering position.

  • Active or able to maintain a DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level or higher

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
