General Electric Lead Engineer - Evaluation Engineer in Evendale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

Evaluation Engineer role will support current NPI projects. The Evaluation Engine Owner manages development engine(s) through hardware receiving, instrumentation, engine assembly, site integration, & test execution. Evaluation Engineering is the conduit for all engine and test requirements. This role leverages multiple GE systems to flow customer requirements to the different doing organizations. The Evaluation Engineer creates and maintains engine schedules to track the execution of the engine program. This role works inclusively and horizontally with Development Assembly, Instrumentation, Design Engineering disciplines, and Test Sites. The desired candidate should possess strong communications and leadership skills.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define, and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements.

  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.

  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated.

  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.

  • Share engineering information and promote open dialogue.

  • Manage a development engine asset to ensure timely schedule and test mission fulfillment.

  • Interpret Program requirements and relay to proper TSE sub-sections for integration.

  • Participate in priority calls and help actively manage hardware delivery, tollgate reviews, and test execution.

  • Capture all lessons learned, help implement corrective actions, and share knowledge with other engine owners.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma/GED with 6 years' experience in design engineering).

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in design engineering

  • Required minimum of 10% out of state travel required annually.

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of fulfillment, assembly, instrumentation, and test disciplines

  • Familiarity with the TSE Department Sections and Sub-Sections

  • Engine and Rig test experience
