Role Summary:

The Lead Digital Communications Specialist will:

  • Manage GE Aviation’s website and social media channels

  • Work with GE Aviation’s Global Communications team to create, pull and promote content and stories online – engaging, educating and interacting with key online audiences

  • Work with GE Corporate Communications and GE Digital Marketing teams to promote Aviation content and stories on GE Corporate’s social media channels Essential Responsibilities: In addition, as the Lead Digital Communications Specialist, you will:

  • Promote and protect GE’s brand and reputation among online audiences

  • Grow our audience and followers - monitor and measure effectiveness of the tools and the content being shared

  • Manage GE Aviation’s website and social media communication tools (Inc. The Bike Shop, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram etc.)

  • Work with the Client Communicators to create & promote content and stories, engaging & educating key stakeholders including media, customers, talent and Aviation enthusiasts to support the business strategy

  • Deliver a content-rich digital experience for all our online audiences

  • Work with Corporate to promote Aviation content and stories for GE Corporate’s social media channels (Instagram, Twitter etc.)

  • Assist the Crisis Communications team as necessary on any specific business issue and have processes in place to rapidly deploy content and enforce crisis plan

  • Understand, promote and protect GE’s reputation and brand among external audiences. Build public trust and support GE’s growth

  • Monitor online discussions and trends within the Aviation online community

  • Identify and report trends in usage and advise on potential opportunities

  • Alert appropriate staff as issues arise and work with team to resolve issues

  • Identify the influencers in the online Aviation community

  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of the website, the social media tools being used and the content being shared

  • Grow our audience and followers. Build effective external networks and drive public engagement

  • Educate press, bloggers, analysts and influencers about GE products, solutions, technologies and initiatives

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key social media and digital influencers

  • Develop and maintain the website and social media training resources, policies and procedures Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related field from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 3 years communications experience covering organizational, PR or marketing Communications (ncluding knowledge of print, video, image and web technologies)

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience of managing a website and social media channels for a medium / large organization ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :

  • Be reliable, responsible and committed to fulfill social media obligations (including working non-office hours in the event of crisis communications) Desired Characteristics:
