General Electric Internal Communications Staff Manager – Technology & Supply Chain in Evendale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

Drive consistent messages for employees across GE Aviation’s “Product” and “Process” Priorities with a focus on Technology and Supply Chain. Partner with the Engineering and Supply Chain business leadership to create and execute a communications strategy which keeps key internal and external stakeholders well-informed to help achieve business objectives. Ensure employee engagement and strong connectivity to business strategy and culture. Lead a small team of communications professionals to achieve shared goals.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide executive communications to senior leaders for both internal and external audiences.

  • Partner with business leadership to ensure successful internal communications to keep key all Aviation employees well-informed to help achieve business objectives – special focus on Technology and Supply Chain.

  • Create compelling content for telling the GE Aviation story to internal & external audiences.

  • Partner with other communicators to tell the GE Aviation Sustainability story – to external audiences (customers, industry groups, future employees).

  • Analyze and design an improved communications strategy to recommend new channels, methods and ideas.

  • Advises leaders regarding projects, processes and procedures requiring communications.

  • Partners with internal communications team to accomplish key priorities including culture, strategy and change management efforts.

  • Coach, develop and lead a small team of professionals.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related field

  • At least five years of experience in Corporate Communications or Executive Communications.

  • Prior experience as a people leader

  • Familiar with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Technology savvy with a keen understanding of all types of communication channels

  • Ability to assess content/programming success using data and analytics

  • Strong project management skillset; executes in a timely and effective manner

Desired Characteristics:

  • Industry experience preferred –industrial, manufacturing company; aerospace/technology; general business acumen

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; ability to cut through with a succinct, modern communication style

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, fiercely committed to quality, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously switching between them as required

  • Demonstrated ability to create content; strong storytelling abilities and clear ability to turn complex ideas into simple messages

  • Collaborates with communications team members and business partners to develop messages that resonate with multiple stakeholder groups

  • Strong digital and social storytelling and engagement experience

  • Complex organizational and cultural change management experience

  • Practiced capacity to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders navigating conflicting opinions & priorities and developing consensus

  • Bring a business outcomes mindset to communications work

  • Uses surveys, media and online tracking, and other listening techniques to develop a holistic view of how stakeholders feel about relevant company issues

  • Proven ability to work with partners at all levels

  • Life-long learner; thirsty for knowledge and curious

  • Able to build credibility quickly and become a sought-after resource for communications advice and counsel
