Job Description Summary
In this role you will be part of an Integrated Product Team focused on product development in Military Engineering. You will be responsible for module/system level FEA. The role informs the design team of system level impacts. In this position you will interact daily with of a multidisciplinary team of engineers including Mechanical, Aerodynamics, Heat Transfer and Engine Systems. You will be required to push the boundaries of what is possible with the latest technologies and materials developed at GE Aviation.
Roles and Responsibilities
Execute the design and analysis of assigned high complexity systems and sub-systems using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements.
Provide technical guidance that influences outcomes to other people supporting moderate complexity tasks
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews with internal and external customers
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
At least 8 additional years of experience in a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering position.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level or higher
Existing DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level or higher
Extensive experience with ANSYS, or similar FEM packages and principles
Experience with mechanical FEA at the system level
Familiarity with NX, or other CAD software and principles
Must show motivation to learn
Track record of delivering with focus
Demonstrable problem solving skills
History of building an inclusive culture.
