Job Description Summary
The Edison Works Senior Casting Technology Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical support for airfoil and structural castings for advanced military engine programs. The individual will work closely with Design Engineering, Sourcing, and Manufacturing Programs to ensure all producibility, cost, quality, and delivery metrics are met.
Partner with sourcing team members on Casting supplier development and producibility projects.
Mentor suppliers in the application of quality tools & requirements and new technologies.
Work cross functionally with quality and design engineers to ensure that new processes achieve established metrics.
Plan and implement process-engineering activities for new product development and current product support.
Investigate and apply new technology.
Pursue continuous improvement for quality and cost reductions in designated area.
Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of G&DT.
Create technical plans to achieve desired manufacturing objectives while complying to all applicable quality system requirements.
Establish and adhere to a detailed schedule for complex development and low rate production manufacturing work scope.
Identify and communicate to leadership schedule pressures and implement plans to mitigate the impact of those pressures on program deliverables.
Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.
Share engineering information and promote open dialogue.
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks are consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science or similar discipline from an accredited college or university or High School Diploma and 4+ years’ experience
Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance

Ability to assess and provide detailed process definition to assist in the creation of accurate production schedules and capacity and cost models.
