Job Description Summary

The Design Engineer – Ceramic Matrix Composites will report to an Engineer Leader in General Electric’s Advanced Technology organization at the Evendale, OH site. They will be responsible for the design and technical maturation of advanced ceramic turbine hardware on one of General Electric’s commercial products. This is an early career role.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

As a Design Engineer, you will:

  • Execute the mechanical design, analysis, and evaluation of turbine hardware.

  • Develop technical experience and utilize analytical thinking while improving the quality of General Electric’s newest products.

  • Learn best practices in hardware design and apply them to integrate with adjacent hardware and the engine system.

  • Acquireawareness of the competitive landscape and the factors that differentiate your technology area.

  • Participate incross-functional projects and present outcomes to technical and business leaders.

  • Engage with supply chain on the industrialization of ceramic matrix composites.

  • Be connected to the details of the ceramic manufacturing process and work closely with the team at our development facility in Evendale, OH.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor'sdegree in Engineeringfrom an accredited university orcollege.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Exposure to composites, ceramics, or turbine design.

  • Exposure to computer-aided design and stress analysis software.

  • Exposure to analytics and statistical tools.

  • Provenfacilitation and collaborationskills.

  • Flexible and friendly approach to working inteams.

  • Interest in being a self-starter with your eye constantly on problem solving and drivingsolutions.
