GE Aerospace Design Engineer – Ceramic Matrix Composites in Evendale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

Mechanical or aerospace engineer who has a desire to learn and design with the industry leading ceramic matrix composite team. This team works on military programs to design and test jet engine components made with ceramic matrix composites. This role includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components, impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team, executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines, and there is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations. This position has offerings for career growth within mechanical design.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer, you will:

  • Execute the mechanical design, analysis, and evaluation of turbine hardware.Develop technical experience and utilize analytical thinking while improving the quality of General Electric’s newest military products.

  • Learn best practices in hardware design and apply them to integrate with adjacent hardware and the engine system.

  • Acquire awareness of the competitive landscape and the factors that differentiate your technology area.

  • Participate in cross-functional projects and present outcomes to technical and business leaders.

  • Engage with supply chain on the industrialization of ceramic matrix composites.

  • Be connected to the details of the ceramic manufacturing process and work closely with the team at our development facility in Evendale, OH.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Ability to maintain or obtain a Government Security Clearance

  • Ability to work on-site in Evendale, OH

  • Exposure to composites, ceramics, or turbine design.

  • Exposure to computer-aided design and stress analysis software.
