General Electric Americas Regional Customs Leader in Evendale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

As the Americas Regional Customs Leader, you will be responsible for leading all customs related activities for GE Aviation in the Americas. This includes imports from both suppliers and other GE facilities. This individual must be an expert in Customs and able to lead and coach their team.

This role is open to remote work anywhere in the United States.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategy for Customs operations in the region, aligned with Global Customs Enterprise Standard

  • Ensure the pre-declaration review is performed including confirmation that valuation, classification, country of origin and any applicable special program documentation is complete before an import or export occurs

  • Work with approved agents to support daily customs clearances and own shipment issue resolution

  • Ensure there are trained personnel supporting the Customs activities in the region

  • Identify Customs risks areas and develop actionable plans and procedures to mitigate those risks

  • Evaluate internal controls and drive implementation of recommended improvement plans

  • Prepare periodic reports and metrics on duty, quality, savings, opportunities, risks, accomplishments and value creation

  • Lead Regional Customs Councils

  • Participate in Biz QBRs with agents to address their areas of concern.

  • Manage local Customs agency relationship (gov’t)

  • Respond to Internal/External requests & investigations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with minimum 5 years experience in customs processes or

  • High school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of experience in Customs processes or

  • In country Professional Customs Certification or Accreditation with minimum 5 years experience in customs processes.
