Job Description Summary
GE Edison Works is looking for aviation engine performance Advanced Lead Engineers to join our fast-growing military new and derivative products engineering team. The Advanced Lead Performance Engineer is an individual contributor role responsible for executing thermodynamic trade studies and modeling of gas turbine cycles of advanced military engines that incorporate GE’s latest advancements in engine technology for next generation applications.
Roles and Responsibilities
Ownership of the thermodynamic cycle development work, models, analysis, and trade studies on the assigned program
Execute performance planning, test coverage, and analysis for assigned program
Proactively identify engine system performance issues and work cross functionally to drive solutions with teammates in the Systems, Operability, Transient, Aero, Heat Transfer, Controls, and hardware design disciplines.
Develop novel modeling methods for an advanced program and new technologies
Identify need for technical and program reviews and support the team in preparation and/or review.
Present technical information to internal and external customers using clear and concise methods.
Drive proper documentation of all technical work on the assigned program
Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules, and contract commitments
Execute and provide guidance for the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college with at least 5 years of experience in engineering.
US Citizenship is required for the position.
The ability and willingness to obtain a US Government security clearance.
Active US Government Security Clearance
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
High level of proficiency with NPSS modeling software
Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering related to turbomachinery cycle design, testing, or systems engineering
At least 3 years of experience in aviation performance engineering.
Experience on military engine performance and installations
