Job Description Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for developing the next-generation multi-disciplinary design system under the guidance of the project leader. In addition, you will support the deployment, training, and support for the implementation of the tools for engineering design and analysis.
Roles & Responsibilities
Develop engineering software for a broad user base in the area of geometry creation and multidisciplinary analysis of turbine components
Collaborate with design teams to understand needs and deliver solutions that make them more productive
Ensure the environment contains reliable and seamless handoffs between design organizations
Participate actively in design and code reviews, including verification and validation process
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Demonstrate initial design system applications to engineering users and provide training
Ensure proper documentation of technical data/methodologies, and report results to leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering disciplines (or high school diploma/GE with 6 years' experience in digital engineering)
Two years of programming experience (in at least one of the following: C/C++/C#, Qt, Visual Studio, NX Open, or shell scripting)
NX-CAD modeling background
Experience in using and customizing engineering software applications
Experience with finite element analysis, familiarity with computational fluid dynamics
Experience skills in developing, coding, and deploying design tools
Strong cross-functional, teaming, communication, and presentation skills
Demonstrated understanding of heat transfer design methods, gas turbine components, systems and aerodynamics
Demonstrated ability to understand customer requirements and draft plans to meet them
Demonstrated Lean and/or Agile project experience
