As a member of ADT, you will develop and support new and existing geometry creation tools for the purpose of automating the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software in that portfolio. The primary area of CFD applications will be in turbomachinery aerodynamics prediction and modeling: Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes (RANS) and Large Eddy Simulations (LES). Your contributions will be directly aligned with GE Aviation’s technology initiatives to invent the future of flight.
In this role, you will:
Plan, Develop and Support geometry tools for robust automation of CFD meshing/modeling for RANS and LES solvers
Work with a global team of tool developers to create more automated CFD geometry tools for our meshing needs for aero design (for RANS and LES)
Get to know the customers and build a reputation of tool support with them to learn their needs and develop strategies to cut labor intensive and long cycle time efforts from their CFD design practices (typically spent in geometry cleanup for meshing)
Learn and support CFD geometry tools for CFD analysis of turbomachinery component design.
Train designers on tool products and execution
Collaborate with users to identify issue, research problem, and propose solutions.
Work with the designers to create aerodynamics design best practices
