Job Description Summary
As a Field Service Engineer 2, you’ll carry out preventative maintenance, installations, troubleshooting and repairs on life-changing medical equipment. The kind of high-tech machinery you will be responsible for will include ARC/MIC (Anesthesia and Monitoring) and other LCS (Life Care Science) equipment, all of which are vital to enable our hospital and healthcare customers to diagnose their patients.
You’ll work out in the field, traveling from customer to customer, staying focused and calm under pressure as you solve complex problems to fix important products. You’ll be given the freedom to plan and organize your day, and opportunities to move into different roles as you develop your career here.
Carry out timely and accurate preventative maintenance, installations and troubleshooting on medical equipment within a hospital or healthcare system to help customers deliver optimal services to patients
Maintain strong relationships and frequent communications with customers to ensure issues are resolved and follow-up services provided to their total satisfaction
Work closely with customers to recommend value-added services that will improve their efficiency
Help and/or train less experienced Field Service Engineers if and when required
Follow company policies, procedures and hospital protocols to ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are met
Complete all appropriate documentation detailing the work you’ve performed
Qualifications / Requirements
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GE Healthcare Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR a High School Diploma/GED and 4 or more years of experience servicing electronic equipment
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted
Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time
Able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity
Valid Driver's License
Willingness to be available to work after-hours and/or on a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends
Ability to meet customer site access requirements, including COVID-19 vaccination.
