General Electric Material Planner in Edmonton, Alberta

Role Summary:

The individual will be responsible for defined manufacturing scheduling and planning work and/or projects with moderate complexity. In this role, you will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day short-term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action and short to medium-term planning.

Essential Responsibilities:

-Require an understanding of general ERP/MRP systems for manufacturing/procurement purposes.

-Strong organization skills for data collection and sorting using Excel spread sheet.

-Basic understanding of engineering bill of materials and routing requirements

-Ability to problem solve and identify potential manufacturing issues or conflicts with bills of

material and procedures

  • Previous planning or purchasing experience, understanding of vendor management and demand planning

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for direct interaction with vendors in

getting quotes and maintaining strong working relationship.

-Work within a team environment and ability to work closely with other departments to meet

customer requirements

-Strong attention to detail and a commitment to follow procedures, regulations, technical specs, etc. to the letter.


High school diploma / GED with at least 2 years of experience in Manufacturing

Desired Characteristics:

-Knowledge or previous experience with wellhead equipment is preferred. Oracle ERP system experience an asset.
