Role Summary:Be part of an ambitious, hard-working and friendly team, together building the next generation (microservice based) of GE’s grid monitoring and advanced analytics software.

Essential Responsibilities:Be part of an ambitious, hard-working and friendly team, together building the next generation (microservice based) of GE’s grid monitoring and advanced analytics software.

As part of this internship, you will engage in various projects, supporting tools and all aspects of an agile (SCRUM based) Software Development Lifecycle.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow in a hands-on environment where your contribution will make a real difference.

As part of your placement, you will receive on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring from experienced staff but also the flexibility to grow within the internship.

As one of the multidisciplinary group of interns on our site you will participate in an ‘Intern Project’ led and run by the interns but supported by experienced staff.

Participate in projects that range from improving established mission critical analytics software to pushing the boundaries of new technologies within the industry (microservice architectures, kubernetes, stream processing).

Qualifications/Requirements:You must be a competent Java developer. An interest in software for real-time engineering would be advantageous. A desire to be part of a small, self-sufficient team in a dynamic working environment with exposure to multiple technologies is our ask.

Applications from job seekers who require sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EU/EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post, as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test.
