General Electric Sr Technical Product Manager in East Cleveland, Ohio

Role Summary:

The Technical Product Manager for Analytics is responsible for establishing the strategic roadmap for new reporting/analytic products. This requires building relationships with various stakeholders & end users, understanding existing reporting/analytic capabilities & needs, and prioritizing those needs to deliver financial and operational benefits such as improved service levels, increased operational efficiency, or improved cash flow, through new or improved analytic products.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Interact with customers/stakeholders to gather feedback on existing products, identify requirements for enhancements, support & trouble-shoot existing solutions, and provide training.

  • Demonstrate strong collaboration and influencing skills, placing high emphasis on understanding strategic needs.

  • Translate unstructured or ambiguous functional requirements into actionable development priorities, features, user stories and tasks in collaboration with the technical architects.

  • Facilitate dialogue between users, the ERP team, the Analytics team and other DT teams.

  • Collaborate with Analytics team and business stakeholders to establish the short-term roadmap for MVPs and quarterly releases.

  • Own and manage the requirements backlog; continuously order and prioritize, in accordance with understanding and validation of customer problems and needs, to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of backlog are always ready.

  • Engage frequently (approximately 50%) with the development team; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, story acceptance and refinement, testing and validation; contribute to design activities and decisions.

  • Actively participate in daily ‘stand-up’ calls to provide functional clarifications for developers, and by testing and documenting new products.

  • Develop increasing understanding of the technology stack and its impact on the final product. Technologies involved include SAP ECC, BW on HANA, Analysis for Excel and Business Objects.

  • Document functional requirements, user guides, and training materials. Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Mathematics (or other relevant technical field) from accredited institution.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain, Finance, or IT

  • Strong analytical thinker and problem solver; ability to synthesize complex data into simple and compelling arguments for change.

  • Demonstrated project leadership experience including project initiation, scoping, resourcing, scheduling, risk management and communication in large, global manufacturing/industrial company.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface and influence at all levels in the organization.

  • Ability to learn and define requirements for complex systems and business processes.

  • Capability to build and maintain cross-functional and cross-regional networks with both internal and external resources, in support of delivering required business goals.Eligibility Requirements:

  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel

  • Deep domain expertise in either Commercial or Supply Chain business processes.

  • Strong track record of understanding of and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities

  • SAP experience as business team member or architect or consultant

  • Business user understanding of SAP ERP and BI tools including ECC, BW, HANA, Business Objects

  • Proven track record of navigating complex organizational structures to meet business needs
