The lighting industry is undergoing unprecedented change at a rapid rate. The Embedded Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in delivering best in class products and solutions to the market.
In addition, as the Embedded Software Engineer, you will:
Lead development of embedded software for Drivers, Controls and Sensors
Collaborate with other firmware / software and hardware engineers globally to develop and launch best in class products and solutions to market
Follow agile product development methodologies to deliver new software feature updates, upgrades and bug fixes on time
Follow industry standard best practices in coding to ensure ease of use and maintenance
Mentor and train new embedded software engineers on coding standards, best practices in software development, QA testing etc. Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
5 years of work experience in an Engineering role (including software applications) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):
Ability and willingness to travel as required Desired Characteristics:
Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
Working knowledge with low power radio network communication such as IEEE802.15.4
Working knowledge in TCP / IP network communication: UDP, TCP, DHCP
Working knowledge in signal processing
Working knowledge in security
Working knowledge in embedded OSes (e.g. FreeRTOS) and tasking
Ability to build rapid script solutions (MATLAB / Python / Octave / etc.)
Experience in IoT, wireline and wireless communication technologies, building automation or sensing technologies
Experience in lighting electronics and controls
Experience in Agile SW development methodology
Experience in development in Linux environment (network and socket)
Experience with IPv6
Experience with wireless protocols – ZigBee / Thread / BLE / DALIBehavioral
Proven ability to lead teams and drive resolution to meet organization deliverables
Resilient and determined self-starter, highly self-directed, proactive individual with excellent problem-solving skills
Must exhibit a customer focused, high energy and assertive approach to issues
