Role Summary:

GE Lighting has an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader with experience in the software, lighting and/or connected home industry. The role of Growth Leader will be pivotal in defining & executing a strategy to expand GE Lighting’s presence in underleveraged markets & geographies as well as building our portfolio of smart products, applications, software and interfaces. They will define Lighting’s smart home growth plan & work across all functions to achieve the growth initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

Additionally, as the Growth Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating a vision, developing a and implementing a strategic plan for Smart Home (hardware, software, and customer support) focused on delivering profitable growth and evolving the business to be an integral part of a total GE Lighting consumer home solution

  • Defining, developing and executing a multi-generational global business strategy including portfolio management, NPI execution and go to market strategy toachieve Sales, Contribution Margin, Operating Margin and market share objectives

  • Establishing effective operating rhythms designed to achieve planned growth objectives

  • Leading and developing a diverse team of Technology and Commercial professionals in both a direct and dotted line reporting capacity

  • Setting a partnership strategy that drives the GE presence in new and existing homes

  • Working collaboratively to determine the best approaches for software and hardware platforms that offer peripheral home services

  • Driving competitive differentiation, customer value and product line growth

  • Collaborate with Marketing to perform market industry research and analysis, competitive assessments, and customer / market segmentation to identify new growth platforms and opportunities

  • Driving customer involvement with marketing and sales to understand market needs and developing winning commercial and product strategies

  • Drive and implement a systems level approach to internal development and external go to market execution that encompasses fixture and LED lamps, sensors, cloud and gateway computing performance, software and application as a total GE system

  • Implement a results oriented, multi-year plan to grow Smart Home from a product business to a product, data and analytics service offering Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in a commercial, business development, or leadership role Desired Characteristics:

  • MBA from an accredited university or college

  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence cross-functionally and globally

  • Proven ability to develop strategy and deliver results

  • Ability to create and execute a vision

  • Demonstrated ability to grasp technical landscape, strong technical acumen

  • Ability to energize teams at all levels of the organization and effectively balance multiple initiatives

  • Strong communication and verbal skills

  • Cross functional breadth to provide strong leadership and direction to product teams

  • Strong analytical and statistical data driven skills

  • Ability to develop and present new product business cases, cost / benefit analysis, economic modeling, and resourcing plans
