Responsible for managing processes, tools and activities related to Cost Accounting in the Dubai and Saudi, as well as the rest of the Eastern Hemisphere when required. Specific responsibilities will include daily recosting, month end close processes and variance analysis.
Prepare estimates of new and/or proposed product costs
Classify labour, material and overhead costs of products and/or services
Work with the Supply Chain team to ensure timely pricing related updates
Analysis of manufacturing and purchasing variances and communicate to manufacturing teams
Ensure accuracy of cost data and inventory valuation
Responsible for settlement of manufacturing orders at month end as well as other month end duties
Assist in developing and managing standard processes for Cost Accounting
Provide cost accounting assistance to the wider team within the Eastern Hemisphere as and when required
Ensure compliance with financial policies and internal controls
Provide ad-hoc costing assistance to other manufacturing teams when required
Any other ad-hoc duties and special projects as required
Degree qualified or equivalent within a finance / accounting field
Previous accounting experience (possibly gained over a 2 year period)
Previous costing experience preferable
Experience of costing manufacturing products would be advantageous
Previous experience of analyzing variances would be beneficial
Communication skills, both verbally and in writing, using various methods including telephone, face-face, email, letter
Ability to interact with individuals locally and internationally with tact, diplomacy and understanding
Skills in the use of Microsoft office
Skills in the use of SAP would be beneficial
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team (both locally and remotely)
Ability to produce accurate and reliable financial data
Ability to prioritise workload
Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
Skills in reviewing processes and ability to propose process improvements
Problem solving skills
Ability to be flexible
